Mackenzie To Run In U.S.

In an attempt to win Empire Games nomination, the New Zealand 440 yards sprint champion. D. W. Mackenzie, will compete in the United States for two months from mid-April. Mackenzie hopes to join the Los Angeles Striders Athletic Club in California. He has been in touch with the University of California coach, Mr J. Bush. Mackenzie will keep the national selectors informed of his progress. The New Zealand team will be selected on May 16 but the Olympic and Empire Games Association has stated that it will consider other candidates until June 30 provided they have been nominated by their respective associations by May 6
