(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH The inter-services summer sports tournament began in Palmerston North yesterday. Re suits were:— Water Polo.—Central 10. Northern 4; Southern 8, Waiouru 3. Softball.—Women; Southern 11. Waiouru 1: Central 24. Northern 11. Men: Southern 11 Waiouru 9; Central 8, Northern 6. Tennis.—-Waiouru 3, Southern 3 (Waiouru won, 8-7, on games). Central 6, Northern 0. Cricket.—Northern 164 beat Central 137, on the first innings: Waiouru 206/6 (James 104) and 6/0, beat Southern 103 and 103, outright.
