Women Tennis Players

The Canterbury women’s tennis team to play Otago at Dunedin this week-end has been announced as follows: Misses S. Field, C. Andrew. A. Grant, J. Habgood.

The men's team announced earlier this week will play for the Wilding Shield South Island final but the women’s team will play only a representative match.

Plastic Joints.—A team of research workers at Hammersmith Hospital, London, is experimenting with plastic joints for the fingers of people crippled with rheumatoid arthritis. Metal joints have been found to set up irritation. Polyproplene joints now being tested are light and selflubricating.
