MOTZ’S 22 RECORD

The 22 runs scored by R. C. Motz off one over from D. A. Allen in the second test at Carisbrook was the highest number of runs hit by a batsman off a six-ball over in test cricket.

The previous highest was 21, held by S. G. Barnes, M. W. Tate and J. H. Sinclair. The record for the most runs scored off one over is also held by New Zealand. In 1953, B. Sutcliffe and R. W. Blair took 25 runs off an eightball over from H. J. Tayfield (South Africa).
