Two Houses Sold
A bungalow of five rooms, kitchenette, bathroom, and laundry at 264 Bealey avenue, Christchurch, was sold for £2960 at public auction yesterday. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan, who was acting in conjunction with John Hutchinson, Ltd. There is also a garage on the section of 19.7 perches, zoned residential B. The initial bid was £2OOO. There were seven bids of £lOO, five of £5O, and one of £lO. A three-bedroomed weatherboard house on a section of 40 perches at 90 Wakatu avenue. Redcliffs. was sold for £2BOO. The auctioneer was Mr J. Allan.
The opening bid was £2400. There were two bids of £lOO. and four of £5O. A farm of 536 acres of fattening and agricultural land at the corner of Thongcaster road and Burnt Hill road. Oxford, was passed in at £16.080. The sale was held by Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd., on account of Mr G. K. Inch The auctioneer was Mr F. Carpenter. Improvements on the property, which is subdivided into 12 paddocks, include a new steel haybarn and sheep yards. Mr Carpenter started the bidding at £2O an acre and then took 10 bids of £l.
