BIG ARMY EXERCISE

Directing Staff At Burnham The Army’s major training exercise <rf the year will be held at Bumfaam Military Camp ait the end of the month. It will be held in two phases. The first on March 26 and 27 will be for majors and below. The second, for senior officers, will be held on April 2 and 3. Yesterday, the directing staff for this year’s exercise arrived in Christchurch, headed by Brigadier L. F. Brooker, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff. The Chief of the General Staff (Major-General W. S. McKinnon), who will supervise the exercise, will arrive in Christchurch today. After checking various aspects of the exercise he will return to Wellington tomorrow.
