(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Mar. 8. Butchers stopped work twice today and only a small part of the day’s killing was done at the Alliance Freezing Works. Butchers met at 10.15 a.m. to discuss the dismissal of a butcher on Monday. Work resumed at 1 p.m. but stopped soon after when butchers left the chain. A union branch meeting has been called for tomorrow morning.

A watching brief is held by the Department of Labour to which the matter was referred by the company.
