Not Lifting Ban
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) CANBERRA, March 8. The ban on imports of uncooked pigmeat from New Zealand was unlikely to be removed in the near future, the Minister for Health (Dr. A. J. Forbes) said today. The Minister said his department had reviewed the ban, which had been imposed last April after the outbreak of the worm infestation trichinosis in New Zealand. It had recommended that the ban be maintained.
