NEW CAPS IN ENGLAND XV

CN.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) LONDON. England’s Rugby selectors have awarded two new caps for the match against Scotland at Murrayfield on March 19. . They go to T. Wintie (scrum-half) and G. Shernff (number eight). Wintie was a Cambridge blue in 1960 and 1961, and Sherriff was a former soccer player. M. P. Weston, who broke a leg last October, returns to partner Wintie at fly-half. It will be his twenty-seventh international.

Single-Wicket.—A. T. W. Grout, the veteran Australian wicketkeeper who retired from test cricket this season, beat the West Indian, W. W. Hall, in the final of a single-wicket competition at Brisbane. Grout dismissed Hall for 21. and won the match with a boundary.

Racing In Reverse.— To improve spectator appeal at the Pukekohe motor-racing circuit and to make the track safer for drivers the New Zealand international grand prix board of control has decided to reverse the direction of racing.
