Six Wickets, Then 102

(N .Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) JOHANNESBURG. A brilliant all-round performance by T. L. Goddard helped a South XI crush a North XI by an innings and 50 runs on the third and final day of a match to mark the South African Cricket Association’s 75th anniversary. Goddard, who retired from test cricket after leading South Africa in the series against England last year, claimed six wickets for 30 runs in the North’s first innings of 204. He then scored 102 when the South replied with 420 for nine declared.

Yesterday, the fast bowler, P. Pollock (5/50) and the fast-medium, P. Trimborn (4/59), wrapped up the North's second innings for 166.
