Table Tennis Practice

ALTHOUGH the Canterbury Table Tennis Association’s summer competition has concluded, there will still be matches for players before the winter competition begins on April 13. On April 9-10 the New Zealand Roman Catholic tournament will be held in Christchurch, providing two full days of match play. This will only provide match practice for members of the Celtic Club, in the main, but four different grades will compete. The open, under-18, under-16 and B grade competitions will be contested by more than 100 players from all parts of New Zealand. The Canterbury Easter Tournament will be held on April 11 and this will provide match plhy for any member of the association who wants it. Senior entries for the winter competition will close on March 25 and the lower grade entries close on April 4. By the time the Easter tournaments begin, every player in Christchurch should know what his position will be during the coming winter, and should be able to use the two tournaments to his own advantage.
