One-Armed Golfer In Form
} J New Zealand’s only J member of the Society of * One Armed Golfers, L. P. ' Devlin, had his third win ' in the South Island veters ans’ golf tournament at * Timaru recently. Playing j in the senior A division $ for those over 70 years, ' the 74 year old Devlin J returned a gross 82. Other ' age grades were.—Senior * B, 60-69 years; intermedis ate. 55.59; junior, 50-54.
Devlin first won the veterans’ tournament in 1963. and after losing the title in 1964 regained it last year. The success adds to an impressive list of achievements that Devlin has gained since taking up golf in 1945. ’ Other wins by Devlin , include club, junior and i intermediate champion- , ships, and the longest 1 driving competition held in conjunction with the . Borrowed Timers’ tournament.
