PORTRAIT OF A PRINCE.—This first official photograph of Prince Aya, second son of Crown Prince Akihito and Princess Michiko of Japan, was taken when the three-month-old baby was presented to the shrine of his ancestors according to royal Japanese tradition. He was later introduced to his grandparents, the Emperor and Empress of Japan, and is now regarded as a full member of the Imperial family.
