EXCHANGE RATES
Many currencies hardened against the £ in the last week. Notable among these were the United States and Canadian dollars. Continental and Scandanavian currencies mostly firmed a few points. Uncertainty before the United Kingdom election has been blamed for this recent weakening of sterling. Telegraphic transfer exchange rates, from the Bank of New South Wales yesterday, were:—
