Berlin Passes Pact Signed
(N.Z.P.A. Reuter—Copyright) EAST BERLIN, March 7. East German and West Berlin officials will sign a new 7 agreement today to allow more than 500.000 West Berliners to get passes for Easter and Whitsun visits to relatives in East Berlin.
The agreement ends earlier fears that new East German political demands tabled at the beginning of the five-w’eek negotiations endangered a new deal.
In a surprise move last week, the East German negotiator. Dr. Michael Kohl, dropped all his new demands which the West had rejected as unacceptable since they were aimed at recognition of East Germany.

It provides for two visiting periods at Easter and Whitsun. and for visits on urgent family grounds until June 30. Under the previous agreement. about 800.000 West Berliners with close relatives in East Berlin have made some
4.500.000 visits across the Berlin wall in six visiting periods.
