GLACIER HOTEL
Full Bookings Last Month (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, March 7. The new hotel at the Franz Josef glacier has been working to capacity during the last month and it has been booked right out up till and after the Easter period. People are being turned away nightly because they have not taken the precaution to book ahead in spite of being warned to do so by garages and service stations along the route between Wanaka and South Westland. They have been compelled to take make-shift accommodation. Seventy-five per cent of the guests at the Franz Josef Hotel during the last few weeks have been New Zealanders. It was earlier claimed that the tariff would be too high for the average New Zealand resident.
