S.I. Show Jumpers Win International
Weather and ground conditions were much improved on the final day of show jumping organised by the Canterbury area of the New Zealand Horse Society at Addington Show Grounds yesterday.
The feature event was the international teams’ competition for the Craven A trophy which was run in conjunction with the grand prix for A grade horses. The New Zealand team— Walnut, Limeliiight, Jane Eyre and Town Boy—all of whom had performed well throughout the South Island circuit, rose to the occasion and had a comfortaWe win, with 12 faults to Australia's 561 faults. Town Boy, magnificently ridden by Colin Clarke, won the grand prix from Romana, owned and ridden by Helen Murchison, of Australia, in a jump-off against time.
