Two Die On N.Z. Roads
An elderly man and a young man died in road accidents in New Zealand at the week-end, according to Press Association reports.
Pedestrian A pedestrian died in Auckland Hospital on Saturday night from injuries suffered when he was struck by a car in New North road, Kingsland, about 7.30 a.m. He was Frederick William Henry Legge, aged 77, retired, of 10 Kingsland avenue. Struck Bridge A young man was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning when the car he was
driving struck the end of a bridge and rolled down a bank. He was Valentine Lewis Biggar, aged 20. a shearer, son of Mr and Mrs V. Biggar, of Chariton. Death was believed to have been instantaneous. Biggar .was driving to Gore on the i Lumsden highway, and the ‘accident occurred at the I bridge over the Otimata stream about a mile south of Mandeville.
