MARKETING ACTIVITY

Mr Hellaby Replies f.V.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Mar. 4. Mr A. Hellaby, whose company, R. and W. Hellaby, Ltd., was described by the chairman of the Meat Board (Sir John Ormond) as “small and insignificant in the development of meat markets.” replied today that it exported more than 50 per cent or £2 million worth of its total frozen meat exports to markets outside Britain each year.

He added: "In the company’s efforts to market lamb away from Britain, it handles more than 100.000 lambs a year for the local trade, shipping provision, and other export markets.” Mr Hellaby also said his company pioneered beef exports to the United States and was foremost in air freighting meats to tourist hotels in the Far East.
