INVERCARGILL.
Bright Warrior, which has shown marked promise in the little racing he has done, may gain his first win in the Railway Handicap, at the Wyndham Trotting Club’s autumn meeting today.
The Newport Chief colt missed the holiday racing but he has come up well for his Wyndham engagement. He may get most opposition from Cool Water and Black Sea, in a useful field ■ of juvenile pacers. Merry Morning, bracketed with Southern Rev and Major Bright, will be a strong favourite for the Johnny Globe Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double. Glen Vale and Raven Song may fare best in the second leg, the Transport Handicap. Highlight of the day will be the clash between the two-year-old colts. Holy Hal and Killadar. in the N.Z. Kindergarten Stakes, feature event on the card. The weather was fine yesterday after rain during the week. The track will be dead.
