CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD PUMPING STATIONS NOS. 55 & 56 To meet the present and future demands of the rapid tn dustrial, commercial and residential expansion of Metropolitan Christchurch, the Christ church Drainage Board is engaged on a large extension scheme. This involves, as well as sewer reticulations, the con struction of several pumping stations. It Is expected That during the next two years at least six pumping stations, of varying sizes, will be required. The largest pumping station will comprise at 38 feet diameter caisson 30 feet deep surmounted with approximately 2000 square feet of control building.
