Christchurch, Invites applications from established Canterbury sawmillers for the pur chase of a supply of standing trees or logs which will be produced from clearfelling operations in Eyrewell State Forest. Applications must be in writing and accompanied by a marked or bank cheque to yield £lOO and will be received at the office of the Conservator of Forests. A further deposit equal to the stumpage value of the estimated cut for three months to be lodged within fourteen days of notification of acceptance of tender. Applicants will be required to pay a stumpage of 9.8 pence per cubic foot for logs six inches and larger at the small end inside bark where sawmillers carry out the logging Applicants may purchase prepared logs if they so desire. Applicants are to state the volume they require and they must be prepared to supply peeler logs and chipwood. Applicants may utilise minor produce such as posts and poles from areas being logged. A specified quantity of this material may be required to be produced for Forest Service sales at a negotiated price. Period of sale five years with yearly review of price and quantity.
