Baby Boy Found In Street
A boy, aged between two and three, was brought by two women to the Christchurch Central Police Station last night.
They reported they had found the boy, who is 2ft ll|in, wandering near the comer of Montreal street and Cambridge terrace, at 10.35 p.m. He clutched a baby’s bottle partly filled with barley water.
He was wearing a blue and white striped T-shirt and brown jersey and without pants, socks and shoes. The boy has brown eyes and hair.
Policewoman Janet Neave, the acting-matron for the
week-end, put him in an armchair and he went to sleep. Radio broadcasts brought no response from his parents. The police believe that the boy had almost certainly climbed from his bed or cot.
