WOOLMARK SYMBOL
(Special Crspdt. N.Z P A.)
LONDON, March 4
A London-based Russian buying agent has accepted the Woolmark symbol of the International Wool Secretariat as evidence that a consignment of £20.000 worth of knitwear being purchased from a British licensee conforms to the standards the Russians insist on in imported textiles. The licensee’s sales director says the Russians were more interested in fabric quality raher than design. They preferred colours more subdued than was general in Britain.
