NEW EMBASSIES FIND FAVOUR

(Neto Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 3. The Government’s decision to establish embassies at Bonn and Rome was welcomed today by the deputy chairman of the Wool Board (Mr B. S. Trolove).

“The embassies will assist the sale of our food products, but there will also be a benefit in the marketing of our wool,” said Mr Trolove. “In the last few years, New Zealand woolgrowers through the International Wool Secretariat have been spending a great deal more on the promotion of wool in Europe. “Through the secretariat’s technical staff he have also been working much more closely with the mills on the processing of wool. “Our direct contacts have been closer also. At present the wool marketing study group’s investigators are visiting scores of mills in Europe. “The woolgrowers’ aim is to offer wool that is well suited to the needs of the milling

industry, and to market it as the industry wants it. “A closer link has developed in the last few years and the trend will continue. It will be helped by the establishment of embassies in Italy and Germany, which are two important markets for our wool,” said Mr Trolove.
