£5 FEE TO TRANSFER

Soccer Club Remit A move to increase the transfer fee of a player from one soccer club to another will be made at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Football Association on Tuesday. The alteration will be proposed by the Rangers club, which is seeking to increase the transfer fee from 5s to £5, and will also move that “such transfer fee shall be paid by the player.” The Western club will move that in future annual meetings of the C.F.A. be held not later than the second Wednesday in December instead of on the second Tuesday in March as at present. The remit has the support of the retiring secretarytreasurer, Mr N .R. Dixon, who has pressed for an earlier annual meeting to give the incoming management committee a longer period to prepare for the coming season’s programme. The Christchurch City club is seeking to prevent players dropping from a higher to a lower division once the semifinals of cup ties have been reached.
