MAGICIANS MEET
Convention To Be Held
Christchurch will be the venue later in the year of an international convention of magicians, according to the annual report of the Canterbury Society of Magicians which was presented on Monday evening by the president (Mr B. Scandrett) to the society’s twenty-sixth annual meeting The convention will be held from December 26 to January 1. A large amount of capital would be needed to make it a success, Mr Scandrett said. The society’s award of merit for 1965 was presented to Mr Scandrett. Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr G. Burns; president, Mr Scandrett; vice-president, Mr R. Lewis; secretary, Mr C Manhire; treasurer, Mr W. Raines; auditor, Mr G. Dorman.
