Decimal Coins For Tonga
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright! SYDNEY, February’ 8. Tonga plans to convert to decimal currency next January but will be using Australian decimal coins as legal tender from next week, “just for practice,” the assistant treasurer of the Tongan Treasury, Mr L. W. Robertson, said in Sydney last night.
For a while after the change Tonga will be using three currencies—Australian decimal coinage, £ s d, and its own decimal coinage.
