Billy Graham To Crusade In 1968
Dr. Billy Graham, an American evangelist, plans to visit New Zealand early in 1968 when he will probably conduct a major crusade in one centre only. “He has raised the possibility of further crusades in the following year, 1969.” says an announcement from the National Council of Churches.
A representative of the Billy Graham Organisation will visit New Zealand soon and will discuss the timetable with the executive of the N.C.C. “A letter from Dr. Graham indicated that he would be willing to make firm commitments for these crusades,” the announcement said. “He has had a very heavy programme and, up till now, has felt a duty and responsibility more at home than abroad because of what he describes as the ‘deep social and religious crisis in the United States.’
“He has had trouble with his health and, in the last two years, had to enter hospital several times. He indicated that he is now on the way to full recovery and able to resume his full schedule.”
