BRASS BAND JUDGES

Australian Is Again Chief The chief adjudicator for the 1966 national brass band championships to be held at Dunedin from May 19 to May--24 would be Mr Norman Henstridge, of Brisbane, Australia, who held a similar position in 1964, the secretary of the New Zealand Brass Bands’ Association (Mr G. R Mowat), announced yesterday. The assistant judges will be Messrs R. Francis and W. Bayliss, of Dunedin, and Mr L. Thorne, of Auckland. The test music is as follows:—A grade: “Triumphant Rhapsody,” by Vinter, and “The Frogs,” by Sir Granville Bantock. B grade: Themes from Symphony No. 1, by Beethoven, and Belmont Variations, by Sir Arthur Bliss. C grade: “Galantia,” by Scull, and “Peter Schmoll,” by Weber. D grade: Neapolitan Suite, by Barsotti.
