£265 Raised By Red Cross
The sum of £265 has been > made available for hurricane: relief in the Pacific by the; North Canterbury centre of the Red Cross Society. The centre has made a grant of £2OO, £4O has been received! from two sub-branches, and j public donations amounting to £25 have been made. The president of the North; Canterbury centre (Mrs R. l.|
nßrake) yesterday appealed to ■I Red Cross sub-centres and 'Junior Red Cross circles to ’ help with the appeal. “The need for relief in the Pacific area is a continuing ione,” Mrs Brake said. “The people on the islands in the > disaster area have lost their means of livelihood for a : whole year.
