U.S. To Send Supplies (N.Z.P.A -Reuter —Copyright) WASHINGTON, Feb. 6. President Johnson has announced that the United States would be sending two million tons of wheat and one million tons of maize as emergency food suppies to India. The President said that the food was to be shipped as soon as possible. He said the wheat would cost about 160 million dollars and the maize 45 to 50 million dollars. The President also announced that he intended to ask Congress to authorise him to make a substantial increase in food allotments to India in addition to the emergency supplies.
