SHOWN IN MOSCOW

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) LONDON, February 7. Moscow television yesterday broadcast a new photograph of the moon’s

surface received from Luna IX.

The picture was transmitted by Luna IX on Friday morning.

Tass said this picture shows a section of the lunar landscape to the north of the station. The camera was inclined toward the horizon and the sun was to the east about seven degrees above the moon’s horizon. Visible in the lower lefthand corner of the photo. Tass said, was a piece of the moon probe itself and to the right was another part of the station. This was out of focus, however, because it was too close to the camera’s lens.
