FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A slow moving depression lies over the North Tasman Sea; an anti-cyclone is centred over the South Tasman, with a ridge of high pressure extending to the east of the South Island. Forecast: Canterbury, Kaikoura coast and central Marlborough.—Light to moderate easterly winds; low clouds at first, with scattered drizzle and patches of fog; cloud clearing by afternoon, with temperatures rising. Nelson and Marlborough Sounds.—Moderate easterly winds; low cloud, and isolated drizzle patches, but partly cloudy and warm later. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate variable winds; low cloud, with areas of drizzle or fog, becoming partly cloudy and mild. Outlook.—All districts: Areas of cloud or fog night and morning; patches of drizzle; mainly fine in the afternoon. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
