Coin Designs
Sir, —When 1 saw the designs of the new coins I thought they were the work of a cartoonist, little realising they are what may be foisted on us in the near future. Except one (the shilling) the value is left unciphered. 1 agree with one correspondent that a plain design should be considered—the historic Britannia (not the ship). Surely the footballer should have a headguard, and 53 stars instead of four should be engraved on the one cent; or is it one dollar? —Yours, etc., R. W. LITTLEBURY. February 6, 1966.
