GIRL OF 2 1/2 DROWNED

(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Feb. 7. A girl aged two years and a half was drowned in the Waimana river near Whakarae, 12 miles south of Waimana, yesterday afternoon. She was: Doreen Takao, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Takao, of Whakarae. The child was playing with older children when she disappeared from sight. Older children found the body half an hour later. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was given but the child failed to respond.
