DOMINION A MEMBER

Committee Of 1.L.0. (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WELLINGTON, Feb. 6. New Zealand will be represented on the International Labour Office committee of social security experts. The Minister of Social Security, Mr McKay, announced the appointment of Mr G. J. Brocklehurst, the chairman of the Social Security Commission, as one of the thirty Government experts on social security matters. The appointment, for a period expiring on December 31, 1968, was made by the governing body of the 1.L.0. Mr McKay said the committee of experts is of a purely advisory nature, with its members called upon to supply inf ormation on request to the 1.L.0. Although the experts will normally be consulted by correspondence, they might be convened to occasional meetings in Geneva.

Mr Brocklehurst has had previous experience with the 1.L.0. in social security assignments in Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago.
