Committed For Trial
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. A 52-year-old West African, the bosun of the M.V. Bretwalda. was committed to the Supreme Court, Wellington, for trial on one charge of assault, one of intent to injure by assault, and that with intent to injure Roland Pierre Louis he did injure Bamunu Mudijanselage Banda. James Swen, a native of Sierra Leone, pleaded not guilty to the charges today when depositions were taken for the second day before Mr H. Rosen. SAI., in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court. Earlier depositions were taken in a Wellington hospital isolation ward and in Court on Wednesday. The alleged offences occurred aboard the Bretwalda when the ship was berthed at Aotea quay on Friday, January 28. Sergeant P. H. O’Donnell prosecuted and Mr J. A. Tannahill appeared for Swen. A
