Record At Gore
(N.Z. Press Association) GORE. Golden Boa put up a fast time in winning the Gore Racing Club Handicap, main event and first leg of the double on the opening day of the Gore Racing Club’s summer meeting yesterday. Her winning time of 2min 4 3-ssec was only 3-ssec outside the course record held jointly by Lance Wing (1945) and Well Cut (1957). The second leg of the double, the Croydon Handicap, produced another smart time. Lisa finished powerfully to record Imin Usee for the six furlongs, cutting a fifth of a second off the course record set by Skylight in 1955.
