A former Christchurch butcher and sportsman, Mr Terry Porter, aged 30, who says he has been earning up to £l5O a week over the last two years as a top Sydney model, arrived in Auckland on the liner Oriental Queen. Mr Porter, whose main job is modelling for tele-

vision commercials, will seek work in Auckland. Leaving Christchurch five years ago, he began part-time fashion modelling while a women’s hairdresser in London, and became a professional model in Sydney two years ago.

He said that New Zealanders looked on male models as “a bit queer,” but he was not concerned.
