Two Centuries
Compiled The bat again -held sway in Malvern cricket on Saturday. Two centuries were scored, in a riotous 45 minutes, the Sheffield opening pair, N. Q. Wright and K. Howarth, scored 130 without being separated. They will not be playing next week as they are both selected for a representative match. G. Ridgen laid a good foundation to the Greendale innings with a sound 109 against Kirwee. In fact, Including the scores of his brother and cousin, the Ridgen family contributed 184 to the team’s total.
One of the best innings of the day was played by G. Stone (Hororata). Caught on the boundary going for his century, Stone gave no chances in a flowing exhibition. The consistent R. Farrant made his third century of the season for Darfield, and his second in succession. For the opposition, South Malvern, O. Stuart had a good double, taking three wickets and topscoring. Scores:—
