I. Greig Wins Trophy Race

I. Greig won the Waimairi Surf Life-Saving Club's annual Les Jordan Memorial Tropbv surf race on Saturday. He finished only Ssec ahead of J. Hughes, a former Canterbury representative, who is making a come-back to competitive surfing. The race, wlilch is held over a triangular course of about half a mile, is held each year in memory of the St. Clair lifesaver who was killed by a shark white surf training at Dunedin. Greig’s success followed his recent win in the Canterbury Swimming Centre's three-mile open water title race at Diamond Harbour. The first junior home was S. Carruthers and Miss R. Leask won the women's section.
