Picasso And Lenin Prize
(N Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS, Feb. 6. The painter, Pablo Picasso, is reported to have declined the Lenin Peace Prize, because of his cooling attitude towards the Soviet Union. The Soviet Ambassador, Mr Valerian Zorin, is at present visiting Cannes, near Picasso’s home. It had been rumoured that he would take the opportunity to present the prize to Picasso, awarded in 1964. This has been denied by a spokesman for the Soviet Embassy in Paris.
