Age Benefit Restrictions
Sir.—Restrictions on the age benefit were put on when wages were less than half what they are now. A man over 80 is much worse off: he is on charity, just as he was 80 years ago. I would remind “Old Timer” not to trust the Labour members. He must know the mess they made of Society Security.—Yours, etc., FAR BACK DAN. February 2, 1966.
