Dr. H. M. Whyte has been appointed Pro i fessor and Head of the Department. The Department of Clinical Science is a newly established Department of the John Curtin School of Medical Research but will be housed in a new wing of the Canberra Communiiy Hospital. It will have laboratory and clinical facilities ready for occupation in August. 1966. and its activities will be directed towards metabolic problems related to obesity and other disorders which have a bearing on ischaemic heart disease.
