POLICEMAN GAOLED
Seven Charges Of Theft (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Feb. 4. A Rotorua police constable Arthur Edward Terry, aged 35, married, who stole a total of £B6 of found money hand* ed in at the police station, was today sent to prison for four months by Mr G. •J. Donne, S.M., in the Rotorua Magistrate’s Court. Earlier Terry had pleaded guilty to seven charges of theft. Today the Magistrate sentenced him to four months in prison on each count, the terms to be concurrent. The term will be followed by probation for one year, with conditions that Terry does not drink or gamble and that he places the control of his finances in the control of the probation officer.
Restitution of £B5 was ordered.
