SCHEME FOR LAMB SALES

Markets Other Than U.K.

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Feb. 3.

Support for Meat Board control of any lamb diversionary scheme was affirmed by the Dominion Meat and Wool Council of Federated Farmers at its meeting yesterday. The meeting was addressed by the chairman of the Meat Board, Sir John Ormond, and other board members on methods of developing markets outside Britain. The council reaffirmed a previous resolution recognising “the urgent necessity to develop markets for lamb outside the United Kingdom and approves in principle the need for a diversionary scheme.” It added that the Meat Board should control such a scheme.
