60 Acres Lost

Although the fire started about 3 pun., the Ashburton County Fire Brigade was not summoned until 4.45 p.m. By the time the brigade arrived, the fire had a good hold and more than 60 acres of wheat, which was reedy for harvest, was destroyed.
