16 To Play In Bowls

Thirteen overseas countries, including New Zealand, have entered for the first world bowls championship, to be held in Sydney next October.
The chairman of the championship organising committee, Dr. Benjamin, said entries had been received from England, Ireland. Scotland. Rhodesia, Kenya, U.S.A., Fiji. Hong Kong, Papua and New Guinea, New Zealand, South Africa, and Jersey. Dr. Benjamin said that including Australia there should be 16 countries competing in the championship. He believed entries would also be received from Wales and Japan.
