1821 Patients Carried
Last month, usually considered light for ambulance work, showed an increase in mileage of 1813 over January, 1965, with 311 more patients carried, the Christchurch subcentre of the St. John Ambulance Association reported. A total of 1821 patients covered 11,115 miles, con?pared with 12,251 miles and 2069 patients in December and 9302 miles and 1510 patients in January, 1965. “Normally, with traffic lighter, we expect motor accidents to be fewer. However, in January we attended 63 involving 93 patients, in December we attended 63 involving 93 patients, and in January, 1965, 49 involving 61 patients,” said the secretary (Mr G. A. Brown).
Miscellaneous accidents involving 62 patients were also attended.
